Capital Expenditures (CapEx)

Capital Expenditures (CapEx) is a financial metric that represents the amount of money that a company spends on acquiring, improving or maintaining long-term assets such as property and equipment. These assets are considered to be vital resources that support the company's core operations and are expected to generate profits over an extended period of time, typically more than one year. As such, CapEx is a measure of long-term investment made by the company to sustain and grow its business. CapEx is generally reported on a company's balance sheet as a non-current asset.
